About the Surgeon
Dr. Carlton Cranford is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon based in Denison, Texas. He brings subspecialty-level expertise to a community that deserves it — without the drive to Dallas.
Dr. Carlton Cranford, DPM — Denison, Texas
Dr. Cranford earned his medical degree from Barry University School of Medicine in Miami, Florida, before completing his internship and residency at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans — ranked among the top podiatric training programs in the country. There he trained alongside expert podiatrists and foot and ankle orthopedic surgeons, receiving extensive instruction in foot, rearfoot, and ankle surgery, reconstruction, and trauma.
That depth of training — across both podiatric and orthopedic disciplines — shapes how he approaches every case: with the full picture in mind, not just the presenting complaint. He brings subspecialty-level expertise to Texoma so patients here don't have to drive to Dallas for the care they deserve.
Growing up in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and training in New Orleans, Dr. Cranford developed a deep love for Gulf Coast culture and traditions. He is one of four brothers — and an identical triplet — and together they return to New Orleans each year to march in one of the historic Mardi Gras parades as members of the Krewe of Thoth. Outside the clinic, he enjoys Cajun cooking and deep-sea fishing with his father and brothers.
"My goal is simple: get you back on your feet, doing what you love, with as little disruption to your life as possible."— Dr. Carlton Cranford, DPM
Every diagnosis and surgical plan is built on a thorough evaluation — not a rushed assessment. Dr. Cranford takes the time to understand the full picture before recommending a path forward.
Patients leave every appointment knowing exactly what is happening, why, and what comes next. No jargon, no guesswork.
From first visit through recovery, you work directly with Dr. Cranford — not a rotating roster of providers.
